It’s not often where I’d go out of my way to compliment a fanmade work. But I’m very glad to add this one to the list. I’ve been meaning to give my personal opinion on this one for a while, but I was waiting for its conclusive finale until I had my last word on it.
Now that it has ended I must say this: It’s simply fantastic.
The sheer amount of time that must have been put towards making these 5 videos is already something that baffles me, but not just that, anyone can dedicate so much time to something. No, it’s the brilliance of it all, the storyline, the acting, the use of the well known Phoenix Wright effects, everything timed out for a perfect end product. Amongst the fan works out there, this is one of my favorites, because it combines a lot of things, including one thing that may go unadverted while watching these: Humbilism.
It doesn’t try to go over its limits, the voice actors don’t have all perfect voices, nor they have perfect microphones, while the cutting of the editing is simply marvelous, the video itself is no cutting edge fanciness either, but when everything’s put together it just -works-. A clear example of how you don’t need to have professional material or skills to create a great thing. I know this may not sound like something I should celebrate, but I do, I really appreciate the humility in which everything started and was done. Because in the end, except a few who are too blind to see it, we are all humble artists in this community, most of us don’t even know how to hold a pencil and we try anyways. And this little series is a great inspirator to keep on going. We gotta believe in our creation, like the guys behind this did, and it’ll certainly turn out amazing.
Tears were shed, and although it may not be “perfect” at the eyes of many (and obviously it isn’t, there are things that remained a bit in the air and some others that seemed a bit out of place) nothing really is, but there’s some things that get close to perfection, and for what it is, a fanmade piece of art? I think this is one of them.
I’m not going to talk about the thing itself, since I would be spoiling too much, and it’s one of those things that I -really- believe people need to watch by themselves. Forget about everything you hear about crossovers, this is simply fantastic, give it a try if you haven’t yet, thank me later.
Check it out if you haven’t yet! (It’s VERY lengthy though! Almost 7 hours total, so take it easy).
