Now that I’ve had Smash 4 for a bit, I think I’ve figured out who my mains are. Naturally, I had to draw a lil’ thing with ‘em.
Ness and Jr. were characters I knew I’d play a bunch (especially Ness, EarthBound bias ‘n’ all, y’know). Shulk on the other hand, was not a character I’ve expected to take a liking to. When I saw his trailer, I thought “really cool concept, but probably a bit too complex for me”. I’m glad I was wrong.
Also I can’t help but call the Monado the “Banado” after laying my eyes on this particular gif. Guess he’s really peeling it.

Everything you wanted to know about Shulk that SSB won’t tell you

killerdraco:

Ever since the announcement that he would be in Super Smash Bros., Xenoblade Chronicles’ Protagonist, Shulk, has been getting a lot of attention on tumblr. However, there’s more to Shulk than “I’m really feeling it!”, and SSB doesn’t show that. To that end, here’s a synopsis of what Shulk is about in his source material! Minor spoilers ahead, but mostly early-game spoilers.

Full account of how each Monado Arts stance affects your stats in SSB

Sakurai did make a post on Miiverse indicating what each stance does, but it turns out he wasn’t completely thorough! There’s not much documentation in the game about this other than random tips, so I went into training mode to test out all these stats and how they change.

The scale is fudged a little bit for readability (1 represents the worst possible result for each stat, 3 is the default, and 5 is the best possible) but if people are really seriously actually interested in the exact numbers from the testing I did, I can provide those too.

[Note: the run speed stat also improves your horizontal movement in the air]

Smash 3DS Week - Day 2: Favorite newcomers

Needless to say, I’m pretty excited about Rosalina being in the new Smash. Not only do I love her design, but every one of her moves also look incredibly sparkly and stylish. The theme of the galaxy and the stars bending to her will makes her seem somewhat ethereal and very powerful, while still remaining graceful and composed.

Appearances aside, her assistance from Luma definitely makes her an interesting character. I imagine it will be quite difficult keeping track of both of them on screen, but if one can master controlling Luma as well as Rosalina, she will be a force to be reckoned with.

Her final smash doesn’t look too great, so I don’t have high hopes for that. Hopefully her abilities will make up for it!

Aside from Rosalina, I’m really looking forward to Megaman being in there! I’ve had the pleasure of trying him out on the 3DS demo, and so far I really like the way he handles. I got to try Villager as well, and I think I do a reasonable job with him. Lady Palutena and the Mii Fighters are also characters that I’m anxious to try, so really, a lot of the newcomers look fantastic to me!
